Booth 2 - Samoa Sanitation and Drainage Project

The Samoa Sanitation and Drainage Project is a Government of Samoa initiative to improve sanitation and drainage mainly in its township of Apia. Currently flooding occurs in Apia and many septic tanks are old and leaking. In the low lying areas of Apia, wastewater mixes with floodwater and poses a public health risk. Installing a pressure sewer system and improving existing drainage is one of the many commitments by the Government of Samoa to protect its environment from further harm as a result of rapid urbanization and industry growth. The project is co funded by the Government of Samoa and the Asian Development Bank or ADB.

For more information the project please visit www.swa.gov.ws or call 0(685)20409 and ask for the Wastewater Division.
